Minoan Mermaid | Avlea Folk Embroidery
In traditional folk embroidery, particularly that from the island of Crete, mermaids and other mythical creatures abound. This stately mermaid is depicted holding a leafy frond in either hand and is worked in a traditional color palette of red, blue, gold, and green.
