Donna Sue Groves, of Adams County, Ohio, is credited with the popularity of the modern barn quilt movement. The originator of the first documented barn quilt trail, Donna Sue painted a quilt to honor her mother and her mother's love of quilting. The quilt and the barn featured on Quilted Frill are a replica and tribute to Donna. Though she died in 2021, Donna's idea sparked tens of thousands of quilt squares on barns throughout North America for all to enjoy.
