Designer's note: Can you believe that the Fragments in Time series is 10 years old!?! To celebrate this milestone here at the Summer House, I have created a series that celebrates my forebearers. It is a series of ancestral houses!
Number Three is the home of my great-great grandmother. She became one of my stitching inspirations when I found a little snippet of linen with the tiniest cross stitches when I was a girl. How did she ever see to stitch them? It is tucked under the model in the image.
Number Four features my great grandmother's home. She was a quilter, hence the quilts laying over the fence in the design. I am lucky to have one of her quilts, which I cherish. The model is lying on one of her hand-stitched squares in the image.
Stitch Count: 51 x 51 each
Fabric: Models stitched on 40 ct. Colonial Parchment from Fabrics by Stephanie. I stitched them, so I used my favorite. They will stitch just fine on 32 ct. A fat quarter is needed for doing all eight Fragments individually or with the border.
Thread (2 skeins of each color needed except Pewter if stitching full series): Classic Colorworks- Fresh Brew, London Fog, Deep Blue Sea; Weeks Dye Works - Bright Leaf, Red Rocks, Grasshopper, Moss, Linen, Collards, Curry, Pewter (DMC conversions provided)
As always there is a complimentary border pattern (stitch count 245 x 125) available from the designer's website!! All eight Fragments will fit into the border pattern, to give these versatile charts another finishing option.
