This modern cross stitch design was inspired by a brass candle holder that I have in my kitchen. It is shaped like a mouse, and I’ve always found it fun and whimsical. It brought to mind the expression of being “quiet as a church mouse,” and the idea of silence and reverence during the holiday season. The still bells are a play on the idea of being quiet as well, with stars and snow sparkling in the window beyond adding a touch of holiday magic.
